He possesses an unrivaled work ethic, and often volunteers for multiple patrols or hunting parties in a day. Ashenfang loathes stillness and a day without progress is a day wasted in his mind, so it is only on rare occasions that he will allow himself a break from the many tasks he feels himself responsible for.
Being as blunt and the workaholic that he is, Ashenfang has been deemed something of a recluse within the clan. It isn't that he doesn't enjoy the company of the other cats, though, rather he simply sees little purpose in idle conversation. Why waste time discussing the things he could be doing, after all?He can easily come off as unapproachable or uncaring, but in truth he cares very much. For his clan, for his family; he has a heart, it is simply hidden beneath dark layers of frigid resolve. His emotions are his own, and when he doesn't outwardly show what he is feeling, cats can become put off or frustrated with what can be perceived as a lack of interest.
Since kithood, Boulderheart has been a steady presence in his life, and with the maturing of his younger sisters Hollystream and Quailwing have made it their duty to seek him out and force their love upon him. Other cats, though, those unfamiliar with his gruff nature and stand offish attitude, tend to avoid him and consider him unapproachable in the best of moods. However, it isn't that Ashenfang wouldn't value a true and honest friendship, he simply doesn't feel the desire to put forth the extension of conversation that would begin such a relationship. The dark tom has never been the best conversationalist, his responses being so curt and to the point, and recognizing this as a weakness he chooses not to display it.
That being said, if a cat would come to him and put forth the effort for both of them, Ashenfang might be more inclined to open up a bit. He would never be the kind and nurturing tom that some males become for their friends, but he would be loyal without question and he would never turn his back on a cat capable and willing of returning that loyalty. The tom would lay down his life for his clan, but he would live for someone he considered a friend.
Cats from other clans would be the closest thing Ashenfang has to a true enemy, but even they are merely made so by happenstance of birth. In all ways he places his clan before himself, so rival cats are seen as a threat to the cats he cares so deeply for. He will not tolerate distasteful words, or acts of blatant aggression to be made toward his clan and he will fight tooth and claw to defend his clan.
Aside from rival clan cats, Ashenfang has a strong dislike for cats simply looking to throw their weight around. Being a skilled warrior, he prides himself on being able to carry himself with a certain level of honor and respectability and this is a trait he expects other warriors to uphold as well. Those that seek to put down other cats due to some assumed "inferiority" will quickly earn themselves a seat on his hit list, and he will make it his specific pleasure to see them put in their place.
While he holds these feelings and keeps the truth to himself, hiding the unrequited affections from any that might have pitied him or sympathized with his pain, he hasn't been alone. There have been she-cats that have caught his eye and he might have given them a single night to remember, but he has never been the type of tom to stick around and play at being a father. If any litters resulted of his brief interests, no she-cat has ever named him as the sire of their kits and he has continued under the flimsy assumption that he has no offspring.
He is currently involved in a plot with Sharpfrost to act as her future love interest, and is currently unavailable for long lasting romance plots. If you're interested in being one of his past flings no longer content with sitting idly by and letting another she-cat take what they think should be theirs then feel free to start a thread with him because I feel like those plots could make for some awesome twists down the road!
about
Ashenfang is a simple tom. He is honest to a fault, but at times his blunt wording can be taken as a bit offensive. It isn't often that he offers his opinion without prompting, working under the belief that if a cat is curious they will ask, but when he does speak without being spoken to it is best to listen up. The tom wastes no time on unneeded words, and if he says something there is purpose behind it.

FRIENDS
When it comes to friends, Ashenfang has very few which he would term with the word. The cats he considers himself closest to are close to him are his family due to the blood they share, but even they are kept at a strict distance.

ENEMIES
Oh my, well this might be an extensive list. While Ashenfang rarely would call a cat his enemy, there are certainly those that have earned his severe disliking. His own sister - though he hasn't considered her kin for most of his life - Poplarstep would fall into this category. For her is reserved a special sort of hatred after her treacherous involvement in their brother Shellnose's death, and her sins are unforgivable in the male's eyes.

LOVERS
Ashenfang has never experienced the closeness of having a true mate, but that doesn't mean his life has been empty of love. Many moons ago he realized feelings, buried deep and subtle in their presence, for a certain young warrior that he himself had trained. Hazelstream's death placed a heavy burden on him, though, and it was a pain he never quite recovered from or allowed himself to move past. In the back of his mind she is always present, and though he considers such feelings for a cat long gone to the hunting grounds of Starclan a weakness, he can't quite bring himself to let them go.
